This research uses semi-pan Arctic acoustic data to assess bearded seal distributions and soundscapes as part of the newly Arctic Acoustic Observing Network to understand how noise levels are changing and to describe and document human use of the Arctic and changes in biodiversity, presence, and migratory patterns of Arctic and subarctic species.
This research uses bowhead whale distribution and vessel location data to explore how sea ice mediated dynamic bowhead whale distribution and overlap with vessel traffic before (2013/14–2016/17), during (2017/18), and after (2018/19) a significantly low sea ice event in the Bering and Chukchi Seas.
This research used passive acoustic monitoring to explore the relationship between bowhead whale presence and sea ice in the Bering and Chukchi Seas to determine if migration patterns are changing.
