This research uses bowhead whale distribution and vessel location data to explore how sea ice mediated dynamic bowhead whale distribution and overlap with vessel traffic before (2013/14–2016/17), during (2017/18), and after (2018/19) a significantly low sea ice event in the Bering and Chukchi Seas.
This research used passive acoustic monitoring to explore the relationship between bowhead whale presence and sea ice in the Bering and Chukchi Seas to determine if migration patterns are changing.
This research explored the relationship between humpback whales and their primary prey in the California Current Ecosystem from local to regional scales to inform conservation and management of three humpback whale distinct population segments within an ecosystem-based management framework.
